I’m so delighted to share another finished client space with you today – this dreamy and eclectic dining room! I had the chance to work with some really cool and easy going clients who basically trusted me fully to do my design thang! The end result is a simple, eclectic and stylish mix of pieces that feels fresh and new without being completely different. I worked with them in several different rooms, but today I’m going to start with their formal dining space.

Let’s take a look at the before:

Not bad, but just not right yet. They wanted to keep their dining table and the vintage buffet but everything else was fair game to either re-locate or sell. They wanted the room to feel modern, collected and welcoming without too much fuss. Simplicity + style all the way!

My design process usually start on the computer so I mocked up several options and in the end, we settled on this sketch:

And from sketch to real life:

The Walls

The entire first floor is painted BM Grey Owl, which is the warmest light grey with just the right balance of warm/cool undertones that makes it such a versatile color. We kept their recently painted vintage buffet in the same cute little alcove but installed that subtle and minimalist wallpaper for a hint of flair and texture. I really love the mix from this vignette!

I found that dreamy desert landscape print and loved how it played off the colors in the rug and also balanced out the wallpaper accent wall. Gotta love the design mix!

The Lights

We turned to West Elm for the lighting in this room and they really delivered! Their lighting selection is on point these days and that chandelier is one of my absolute favorites! And I love that mixed-metal Art Deco goodness in this traditional style home! The Rug

It’s sooo good and I’m so happy my clients took the leap. It’s very colorful and bold for suburbia, but I just love the happy vibes it brings and also it’s just so dang beautiful! You can’t do much better than that.
